Our farm consists of about 7 acres. We have a lovely pond, nice pasture, a goat pen, and lots of "sheds". We have a garden shed, a storage shed, a buggy shed, a shop shed, a garage shed, a couple of hay sheds, a goat shed, a horse barn, and a Bunk House. You never have enough sheds on a farm. We may need a new shed to house the new tractor.. Yes, a tractor shed! I have a nice driving arena that is 190 x 220 ft. It is still a little bumpy, but with the new drag, hopefully it will smooth out.
We have 5 horses, 2 goats, 2 barn cats, and 1 dog. Two horses we ride nearly every weekend. One horse, a morgan is my driving horse. I raised him from 5 months old and trained him for riding and driving. He loves driving! The other two are my mini horses. They drive single and as a pair.
In 2008, I opened The Buggy Shop. With so many new driving students, I find that I was spending a lot of time shopping for them, looking for harness, bits, gloves, etc, so I decided to open my own store and stock these items. I converted one of my "sheds" into the Buggy Shop. It is not fancy, just functional. I carry usually around a half dozen horse harnesses and a few 2 wheel carts and wagons along with many buggy parts, harness parts, etc. I only order from Amish harness and cart builders. Some that I have dealt with for about 30 years. I also do some consignments. and trades.
